Gary Graden è nato negli Stati Uniti ed ha studiato alla Clark University,alla Hartt School of Music, all' Aspen Summer Music Festival, e all' Accademia Reale di Musica di Stoccolma, con il leggendario maestro Ericson. Gary Graden è un ex-membro e tenore solista del coro da camera Eric Ericson, come del gruppo vocale Lamentabile Consort.

Attualmente è direttore della corale presso la chiesa St. Jacob di Stoccolma. Faceva parte della facoltà del conservatorio musicale di Stoccolma dove ha fondato e diretto il coro da camera del conservatorio musicale di Stoccolma. Con questo coro e con il coro da camera di St. Jacob ha vinto importanti premi e primi premi in parecchi concorsi prestigiosi in Europa compreso il Gran Premio Europeo. Ha partecipato anche a vari festival nazionali ed internazionali tra i quali il Tolosa Festival in Spagna, l' IFCM World Symposia a Minneapolis e Kyoto  e la sagra Musicale Umbra in Italia. Ha eleborato e diretto un gran numero di opere di compositori quali Sven-David Sandstroem, Thomas Jennefelt, Steve Dobrogosz, Bo Hansson, Stephen Leek, Knut Nystedt, Urmas Sisask, Javier Busto, Vytautas Miskinis, Corrado Margutti e Damian Mocnik. Ha diretto numerose orchestre compresa la Stockholm Royal Opera Orchestra, la Stockholm Barock Orchestra, la Uppsala Chamber Orchestra, la Tallin Chamber Orchestra, l'Ensemble Phillidor in Francia e I Solisti di Perugia in Italia e opere piu' impegnative come il Requiem di Mozart e la messa il do minore, la Passione di S. Giovanni e di S. Matteo di Bach, la messa in b min, come anche il Requiem di Brahms, di Duruflè, Faure e Michael Haydn. Gary Graden è richiesto come direttore, maestro e membro di giuria in tutto il mondo. Ha diretto vari cori professionali tra cui il Gruppo vocale della SWR di Stoccarda, il Coro della radio della WDR di Colonia, il coro di Radio Berlino, il gruppo vocale Orpheus di Ochsenhausen, la Jauna Muzika di Vilnius, il Pro Coro Canada, e l' IFCM Coro mondiale della gioventù ed altri. Il suo lavoro come direttore e cantante è documentato da un lungo elenco di CD e registrazioni radiofoniche (BIS, Carus, Proprius, Caprice, Phono Svecia, Gehrmans nosag Camerata Tokyo, ed altri). Ha insegnato a dirigere ed ha tenuto masterclass a Londra, a Oslo, a Vilnius, a Ljubljana, ad Arezzo, a Fano, a Marktoberdorf, a Ochsenhausen, Tolosa, Ejea, Taipei e Singapore . Gary Graden è stato premiato con la "Johannes Norrby medal" per il suo contributo alla musica corale svedese e nel 2005 e' stato eletto in Svezia "Direttore di Coro dell' anno".





Gary Graden was born in the USA and studied at Clark University, the Hartt School of Music, the Aspen Summer Music Festival, and at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, under the legendary Eric Ericson. Gary Graden is a former member and tenor soloist with the Eric Ericson Chamber Choir, as well as the vocal ensemble Lamentabile Consort. Gary Graden is presently choral director at  St. Jacob´s Church in Stockholm. He has also been on the faculty of  Stockholm´s Musikgymnasium where founded and conducted the Stockholm's Musikgymnasium´s Chamber Choir. With this choir and the S:t Jacobs Chamber Choir he has won grand prizes and first prizes in several of Europe´s most prestigious competitions, including the European Grand Prize. He has also participated in a wide array of national and international festivals including the Tolosa Festival in Spain, the IFCM World Symposia in Minneapolis and Kyoto, and Sagra Musicale Umbra in Italy. He has commissioned and premiered a great number of works by such composers as Sven-David Sandström, Thomas Jennefelt, Steve Dobrogosz, Bo Hansson, Stephen Leek, Knut Nystedt, Urmas Sisask, Javier Busto, Vytautas Miskinis, Corrado Margutti and Damian Mocnik. He has conducted several orchestras including the Stockholm Royal Opera Orchestra, the Stockholm Barock Orchestra, the Uppsala Chamber Orchestra, the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble Phillidor, France, and I Solisti di Perugia, Italy in such larger works as Mozart Requiem and Mass in c minor, Bach St. John and St. Mathew Passions, Mass in b minor, as well as the Requiems of Brahms, Duruflé, Faure and Michael Haydn.

Gary Graden is in demand as conductor, teacher and adjudicator throughout the world. He has conducted several professional choirs including the SWR Vocal Ensemble, Stuttgart, WDR Radio Choir, Köln, Berlin Radio Choir, Orpheus Vokalensemble, Ochsenhausen, Jauna Muzika, Vilnius, Pro Coro Canada, and the IFCM World Youth Choir, among others. His work as conductor and singer is documented on a long list of  CD  and radio recordings (BIS, Carus, Proprius, Caprice, Phono Svecia, Gehrmans, nosag, Camerata Tokyo, a.o.). He has taught conducting and held master classes in London, Oslo, Vilnius, Ljubljana, Arezzo, Fano, Marktoberdorf, Ochsenhausen, Tolosa, Ejea, Taipei, and Singapore among others. Gary Graden is the recipient of the  "Johannes Norrby medal"  for his contribution to Swedish choral music, and was elected Sweden´s 2005 “Choral Conductor of the Year”.
